A Stint Abroad Teaching English Can be Life Changing

After completion of the TESOL course Thailand program, the trained teachers are placed in schools throughout Thailand. This stint of teaching abroad is a life changing experience for the trainees. It is indeed the best and most lucrative opportunity to experience the culture and hospitality of Thailand, not just as random visitor but as a teacher living amongst them and teaching English to Thai kids.


The ESL Job involves maximum of 24 classes a week involving 20-22 hours of teaching. And the duration of each class is usually 50-60 minutes depending on the school. Generally their accommodation is taken care of by the school authorities. So with these flexible stays in Thailand they can explore places.
The growth of English as a language has paved the way for the development of English language both in learning and teaching in Thailand. They are now interested in incorporating English language in their daily lives and in this endeavour they opened up large number of EFL/ESL jobs in various schools across the country. Thai authorities focus a lot on the securities of the national guests or tourists. Thais have a lot respect for the outsiders who are there to visit wonderful beaches or exquisite hill stations. But petty crimes and small disruptions are part of daily life like any other nation around the world. Living and teaching in a country like Thailand is a wonderful experience in itself. It is about adopting new way of life with it pros and cons and at the same time expanding personal horizons. Few more safety precautions must be kept in mind while planning to teach in Thailand.
1.    Always carry your passport everywhere you go

3.    The Bangkok taxis are highly recommended public mode of transport
4.    Double check the place of your accommodation
5.    Take licensed company as your guide in any adventurous activity

Starting your teaching career in Thailand after completion of TEFL program will be absolutely exciting and adventurous. Thailand offers a congenial environment and cost of living is relatively cheaper in comparison to other Asian countries. Getting a TEFL certification and choosing to teach in Thailand will be a wise decision and great investment in term of your experience as an ESL teaching career.

With the end of this short stint of teaching they earn higher prestige to obtain other work and supplementary income. The salaries drawn after that is also quite high. You can get absorbed in the existing school or any new place. You can even decide to stay back in Thailand and have a wonderful experience.
